Sample Foreclosure Letter to Property Owner
If you’re a lender or mortgage servicer who needs to send a foreclosure letter to a property owner, here’s a sample foreclosure letter to owner you can use as a template.
Dear [Property Owner],
I regret to inform you that as your lender/mortgage servicer, we have begun the foreclosure process on your property due to [reason for default]. Despite numerous attempts to contact you and work out a repayment plan, we have not received any response from you.
Please be advised that this letter serves as your official notice of default and the start of the foreclosure process. We will be filing a Notice of Default with the county recorder’s office, and you will receive a copy of this notice via certified mail.
It is important that you understand the serious nature of this situation. If you do not take immediate action to rectify the default and bring your account current, we will proceed with the foreclosure process. This may result in the sale of your property, which could have long-lasting financial consequences for you.
We strongly encourage you to contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options. We may be able to work out a repayment plan or explore other alternatives to foreclosure.
Please be advised that if we do not hear from you within 30 days, we will have no choice but to proceed with the foreclosure process. We urge you to take this matter seriously and contact us immediately to avoid further legal action.
Sincerely,
[Lender/Mortgage Servicer]
